½ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
2 eggs
½ stick butter or margarine, softened at room temperature
½ teaspoon vanilla
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Generously grease an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Stir together in a medium-sized bowl the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. Beat eggs, butter or margarine, and vanilla in a large bowl.
  4. Add flour mixture in gradual amounts to the brownie batter.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared pan, and spread evenly. Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
